The Tampa Bay Lightning have won the Stanley Cup

The Tampa Bay Lightning are champions! Yes, Tampa’s NHL squad went on a winning streak in the Stanley Cup playoffs en route to an appearance in the finals. The Tampa Bay Lightning faced off against a tough Dallas Stars team, but managed to bring it home in 6 games.

This is a dream come true for the players, especially for team captain Steve Stamkos. Stamkos was unable to compete in game 6 due to injury.

The Lightning won their first Stanley Cup Championship back in 2004.

Tampa Bay could become the region of champions. The Tampa Bay Rays just secured the AL East Title, and the Tampa Bay Rowdies are playoff bound.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently on top of their division with a 2-1 record. Tampa is also set to host the Super Bowl in 2021.
