The Square in Lykes Gaslight Park brings a food kiosk, and live music to the city’s downtown green space. The concept will remain for a trial period as Tampa’s Downtown Partnership gauges the reception from residents and visitors.
“This temporary public space activation features a food kiosk with grab n’ go options, moveable tables and chairs, overhead lighting, live music and other activities during the project’s duration,” wrote TDP officials on Facebook. “The Partnership will also provide an on-site mobile office for public engagement during the trial period to gather feedback.”
You can visit every day this week from 7am – 3pm.
“Over the past decade, the Partnership has focused on activating public spaces like Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, which has now become a year-round gathering place for Downtown workers and residents,” said Partnership President and CEO Lynda Remund. “Activating Lykes Gaslight Square Park is the next step towards seeing these great public spaces reach their full potential.”
The activation will last for 90 days, and the partnership will experiment with different operating hours based on the feedback they receive from the public.
The menu features sandwiches and wraps, bagels, muffins, and more. Fans of Inside the Box cafe will certainly want to pay a visit soon.
Lykes Gaslight Park is located at 241 E Madison Street
