Tango Brew, an upcoming coffee and wine bar infused with Argentinian and Italian influences, is set to occupy around 1,600 square feet of prime ground-floor retail space at Jade at North Hyde Park. Nestled within the vibrant North Hyde Park neighborhood of Tampa, this new venture will find its home in the esteemed 192-unit luxury apartment complex located at 608 N. Willow Ave. With its strategic proximity to downtown Tampa and the University of Tampa, Tango Brew anticipates its grand opening in late summer 2024.
Helmed by husband-and-wife duo Christopher and Nahara Walters, Tango Brew aspires to create a welcoming haven where locals can gather and forge connections over exquisite coffee, fine wine, and delectable small bites. Embracing the community’s pet-friendly ethos, Tango Brew will feature both indoor and outdoor seating options, accommodating up to 66 patrons. The outdoor space will boast an inviting bar and patio, while a dedicated water and treat station will cater to patrons’ furry companions.

Get ready to tango in Hyde Park
Inspired by an old-world charm reminiscent of a “speakeasy,” Tango Brew will offer a distinctive ambiance adorned with the alluring rhythms of Tango music. In contrast to the modern aesthetics prevalent in many contemporary coffee shops across Tampa, Nahara Walters emphasizes that Tango Brew will exude a timeless allure, setting itself apart with its unique atmosphere and offerings.
“We want Tango Brew to be a home away from home, a ‘third place’ where people who live or work in the neighborhood can gather,” she said. “When we were looking for a location, we fell in love with the space at Jade. It has the exact indoor/outdoor flow we wanted and great foot traffic because of the university, a nearby hospital and police station, and two sizable apartment projects – Jade, as well as Wingspan’s NICHE apartment building, which is right around the corner.”
Argentinian wine and beer in Tampa
The breakfast spread includes blueberry bagels, big sandwiches, and an array of croissants and muffins sourced from a local bakery. Adding a touch of novelty, the café will boast a state-of-the-art drink printer, allowing skilled baristas to adorn the foam of beverages with the café’s logo or personalized messages such as “Happy Birthday” – a whimsical detail sure to elevate the morning ritual.

Tango’s lunch and dinner menu will include bar bites like chicken wings, fries and signature Italian flatbreads with pepperoni, plant-based and other toppings. Italian and Argentinian wine and beers will be served, including from In the Loop Brewing owned by Chris and Nahara’s Walters’ family.
