It’s time to skate in the Sunshine State. There are so many races that occur here in Tampa Bay and beyond. We have the Grand Prix in St. Pete, the Offshore Grand Prix in St. Pete and Saratoa, the Gasparilla and Jingle Bell Run, the St. Anthony’s Triathlon, the Skyway 10k, 5k on the Runway at TPA, St. Pete Run Fest and so much more. For those who prefer to skate in the great outdoors, Sarasota’s Inline Skating Half-Marathon may be the greatest experience ever. The race is set for October 27 at 9:30am and begins at 5851 Nathan Benderson Cir. You can learn more and register on the event’s website.
The Florida Inline Skating Marathon’s Inaugural event was launched by Founder/President Mike Mason and an impassioned ensemble of inline skaters in October 2021. It immediately became the largest skate race in Florida and the second largest in the nation.

A world-class skating event in Sarasota
The event is held at the world-class Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. A variety of race distances offer something for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Not since 2005 had the World Inline Cup (WIC) been represented in the USA, to which the FISM is proud to be an Associated Race. Participants are thanked for their past participation and welcomed if it’s their first FISM. Those considering racing, volunteering, or sponsoring the FISM are assured that the Organizers will spare nothing to provide the best possible experience for all.
Their Mission: The Florida Inline Skating Marathon will elevate and enhance the awareness of the sport of skating and provide National and International competition to skaters of all abilities.
On October 26, there will be a vendor expo near the park, and on October 27 a Marathon, half marathon, 10k and 5k skate race will take place. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about the event.
