“It was a tremendous team effort and we couldn’t be happier with the way everything came together to create this exceptional new rooftop experience here in Midtown Tampa,” said Evette Torres, Dual General Manager for Aloft and Element Hotel. “The views are even more spectacular than I had hoped, and we’re thrilled to finally share them with our guests and our new neighbors in what I hope becomes their new favorite hangout in Midtown.”

While taking in 360-degree views of the Tampa, Westshore, and St. Petersburg skylines, guests at Sal Y Mar can experience a mouth-watering collection of tapas, from Citrus Crab Cakes and Vegetable Bruschetta, to more authentic Spanish treats such as Carne Asada Street Tacos and Pan Seared Scallops with mango puree, plantain crisp, and pico de gallo.

The menu was created by Executive Chef Stephanie Bisogne and showcases the freshest possible local ingredients in a surprising assortment of salads and entrees, including Filet Mignon, Pan-seared Grouper, Chipotle-charred Chicken and more, along with a small selection of fresh-made desserts to provide a sweet ending to any meal. Sal Y Mar also serves a wide array of classic and artisanal craft cocktails, local craft beers, wines and bubbles for guests to enjoy as they toast another Florida sunset.

Tampa’s new food, drink, and entertainment destination

Midtown is quickly evolving into a key food and drink destination in the Tampa Bay region. The popular Hall on Franklin will close its Franklin Street location to focus on the emergence of its large space at Midtown.

“The Hall on Franklin is moving to Midtown Tampa where we will be able to share our next-generation experience with you,” reads an Instagram post from the food hall.  “It will include outdoor seating, private dining, and enhanced service.”

This debut is in addition to the popular food hall’s expansion to Orlando and St. Pete

A new neighborhood rooftop bar

“As a new one-of-a-kind, neighborhood rooftop bar, I have no doubt Sal Y Mar will be one of our most popular spaces and will enhance the essence of Midtown Tampa,” said Evette Torres, Dual General Manager for Aloft and Element Hotel. “We can’t wait to share our spectacular views and our passion for authentic Latin inspired cuisine and sensational cocktails with guests and the entire Midtown community. It’s going to be a truly fabulous space.”

Easily accessible from a dedicated elevator on the hotel’s ground floor, the rooftop lounge will offer 4,900 square feet of indoor and outdoor seating, including a covered terrace and drink rails lining the perimeter. Drawing on Tulum’s Mayan influences, the space will be dressed in earth tones and coastal organic finishes, with fresh crisp linens, bamboo ceiling and comfortable hanging hammock chairs. Whether gathered for happy hour, special events, or a fun evening out with friends, guests will enjoy panoramic skyline views of the Bay area through floor-to-ceiling windows or the open air.
