Tampa International Airport restroom wins “Best Bathroom in America”

Tampa International Airport continues to be the standard bearer for airports across the United States and the world. It just won a very different kind of award courtesy of the Cintas Corporation. The Cintas America’s Best Restroom Contest showcases the best public restrooms in the U.S. and awards one lucky winner with $2,500 in Cintas products and services. That winner is officially Tampa International Airport. Champa Bay, baby!

Ten finalists were selected based on cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements. TPA received the most votes from the public and won the title of America’s Best Restroom. It’s a rather comfortable throne to sit on.

“More and more people are seeking a positive restroom experience,” said Julia Messinger, Marketing Manager for Cintas, who presented TPA with the award on Wednesday. “The restrooms at the Tampa International Airport’s Airside C provide just that with their clean and contemporary design features. They’ve rightfully earned the title of America’s Best Restroom.”

Finalists included the Botanic Gardens in Delaware, La Patisserie in Charleston, Headlands Lodge and Spa in Oregon, and the Stone Mountain Public House in Georgia.

Tampa International Airport puts a ton of TLC into every square inch of its facilities. Some restrooms, one notably before security, features a transfixing aquatic mural.

“Tampa International Airport has always provided guests with a world-class restroom experience, as we know it’s one of the top factors in being ranked among the nation’s favorite airports year after year,” TPA CEO Joe Lopano said. “A lot of work and resources went into designing and building state-of-the-art restrooms at our busiest terminal, Airside C, and we’re thrilled they are now recognized by Cintas and contest voters as America’s best in 2022.”

As part of its prize, TPA received Cintas UltraClean® restroom cleaning service and $2,500 in Cintas products and services. The Airport will be donating these services and products to the Hurricane Ian recovery efforts taking place in southwest Florida.

TPA continues to level up the hype for the coming year(s). Earlier this summer they announced Virgin Atlantic would begin flights to London from the airport. They also hosted the debut of Frontier Airlines new super green airplane.

The new blue, and forthcoming red, express drop-off lanes have also received major praise in the design world.
