Sprouts Set to Increase Footprint in Tampa Bay in 2017

Tampa Bay’s grocery store market is booming. From local spots like Duckweed and Rollin Oats, to major names like Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Publix and Winn Dixie, shoppers have plenty of options when it comes to filling their refrigerators.

In recent years, both Publix and Winn Dixie have elevated their store layouts and their products to appeal to new tastes. Winn Dixie’s South Howard location near Hyde Park Village recently revamped their interior and added a Kahwa Coffee shop to help fuel visitors.

Sprouts to open second Tampa spot in May

Grocery giant Sprouts is the latest name to join our area’s already crowded roster. Sprouts opened their doors on 15110 North Dale Mabry Highway back in February. The store plans to open their second location at 1523 South Dale Mabry Highway in South Tampa on May 24 at 7am.

Sprouts began in Arizona back in 2002. Today, there are 250 Sprouts spread across the U.S.. Frequent customers praise their meat and seafood counters — both take advantage of the meals to-go trend that has come to define the grocery scene in the area.

Store offers extensive beer and wine selection

The store’s bulk section is something to behold. Items include granola, cranberry acai, Turkish apricots, cinnamon creme almonds, Gummi Bears dipped in milk chocolate, BBQ corn nuts, chop date pieces and more.  Shoppers (ages 21+) can also anticipate getting lost in Sprouts extensive craft beer and wine section. The store boasts roughly 100 bottles priced at $10 or less.

The deli section offers more than 500 artisan and specialty cheeses to choose from. The deli also serves as a lunchtime hub for those looking to grab something quick on the go. They offer made-to-order sandwiches and snacks, as well as catering trays for large gatherings/meetings.

Seafood and sweets down the aisles 

Sprout’s seafood section is delivered up to six days a week from vendors who adhere to the market’s strict sourcing standards. Those with a sweet tooth will find themselves frequenting the bakery shelves. The section offers an array of artisan breads, tortillas (whole wheat, artisan, purple corn), Sprouts’ famous two bite breakfast cinnamon rolls and blueberry scones, mini chocolate dipped coconut macaroons and organic English muffins.
