Park & Rec TPA announces official opening

Youth has no age. That’s the mantra at Park & Rec, a total playground for adults. The concept from Stephen Schrutt, founder of the Hunger + Thirst Restaurant Group, is hugely popular in downtown St. Petersburg. Classic arcade games, inventive lawn and tailgate games, and a bountiful beer/cider/seltzer and cocktail menu make it a weekend must for most in our neighboring city.

It also brings several of your favorite childhood flavors back to amazing life. We’re talking spirited lemonade party pouches, frosty cereal coated milkshakes, gourmet hot dogs and pizza, and more. Get ready to get Rec’d.

Now, Tampa is getting its own Park & Rec, and we’re so ready to play. The concept is opening just in time for some wild Halloween celebrations, and it’s giving out $3,000 in prizes during the spooky celebration.

The event takes place from 9pm-3am on Saturday, October 26. Make sure to rock your Halloween costume, because there are prizes for best dressed. You can reserve a table in advance by emailing

Here’s the spooky drink specials available during the event:

  • Syringe Jell-O Shot – Bacardi Dragon Berry Jell-O shot $5
  • Elm Street Boiler Maker – shot of Bacardi Oakheart dropped into a pumpkin beer $7
  • Freddy’s Claw – loaded White Claw w/ Absolut or Bacardi flavors $8

The evening will be complete with music by DJ Fresh & Certified Fresh DJs, dancers, and more entertainment. Tickets to the 21+ event are $10 and can be purchased online.

Visitors will be able to appreciate the mural on the inside by the prolific Chad Mize.

You can keep up with everything happening at Tampa’s newest entertainment hotspot by following them on Facebook and Instagram. Park & Rec TPA, 290 South Meridian Avenue.
