If you’re looking for a taste of Britain, don’t worry about booking a flight to Heathrow or Gatwick; you can stay right in Tampa. The London Pride British Shop provides the perfect taste of the UK right here in Florida.
The London Pride British Shop is a gem in South Tampa, located at 4036 W. Kennedy Boulevard, and it has a location in Largo, as well, if you find yourself across the bridge. From iconic British snacks (Jaffa Cakes, Walker’s Prawn Cocktail Crisps, or Terry’s Chocolate Oranges, anyone?) to a variety of delicious teas, the store truly has “everything great from Britain,” as its slogan suggests.

The authenticity comes from more than just the products, however. The owner and its frequent customers are UK citizens who now call Tampa their home. Carole Clephane Lannon, the store’s current owner, lived in the UK until 1996. After moving here, she was a loyal customer of London Pride for more than a decade. When the previous owners moved back to the UK in September 2017, she took over and the store continues to thrive.
Whether you’ve been to the UK or not, it’s always fun to browse a grocery store full of unique, international foods. You can find anything you want at the London Pride British Shop. They have groceries, snacks, gifts (hand soaps from The English Soap Co., teapots, and English tea strainers), and anything and everything in between.
The store sells McVitie’s digestives, HP sauce, steak and ale pies, and numerous other quintessential British goods. If you’ve ever wanted to make sticky toffee pudding at home, I can guarantee that the London Pride British shop is one of the only local places to buy authentic black treacle, an essential ingredient for the dessert. This store truly adds to the cultural and culinary diversity of Tampa.
The London Pride British Shop is open from 10 AM to 5 PM Monday-Saturday, and 10 AM to 3 PM on Sundays. You can even order online from their website, londonpride.com.
After a visit to the London Pride British Shop, you’ll be wanting to listen to Oasis, cook a Sunday roast, or at least keep returning to the store for more Cadbury chocolates. Keep Calm and Shop On!
