JW Marriott Clearwater Beach has long been one of our favorites for staycations and days spent by the water. Now, the celebrated resort has given us yet another reason to move them to the top of our list.
Latitude 28, the immaculate restaurant housed inside the JW Marriott, officially launched its new Gulf-inspired menu on November 16 and we can’t wait to try everything they have to offer. One of their standout dishes is the freshly caught Florida Black Grouper, prepared with saffron risotto, confit fennel, and a delightful Florida citrus beurre blanc that harmonizes familiar and exciting tastes.
Promising “elevated Gulf Coast flavors,” the launch of this new menu is perfectly timed for holiday meals, and it gives us every excuse we need to visit the beaches now that they’re fully re-opened. From oysters, mussels and pork belly to jumbo lump crab toast, Maine lobster bisque and crispy calamari, we can barely get through the starters without salivating.
A glance through their entrees and coastal selections only whets the appetite further. The Florida Wildflower Honey Glazed Duck Breast catches our eye, in particular. Of course, we wouldn’t say no to the Key West shrimp, yellow tail snapper, or 30-day dry-aged NY strip. With a side of truffle lobster mac and cheese or crispy brussels topped with maple rum-glazed bacon lardons? Yes, please.
And don’t forget to elevate your visit with our signature “Clear” Water Pina Colada cocktail, a refreshing blend that captures the spirit of the Gulf Coast. See the full dinner and bar menu here.
Latitude 28 is your Thanksgiving destination
While we’re eager to return to Latitude 28 any time of year, Thanksgiving is a particularly great time to schedule your visit, especially if you don’t feel like sweating over the stove this year. In addition to the new menu and a seasonal fall cocktail menu, Latitude 28 announced an exquisite 3 course prixe-fixe chef’s menu available from 3-10 pm on Thanksgiving, including a kid’s version of the decadent Thanksgiving feast.
Speaking of the kids: JW Marriott Clearwater Beach is also hosting “Gobble Gobble Games” all week long during Thanksgiving, providing all-day fun for kiddos. Monday-Friday, kids will be immersed in a delightful all-day, fun-filled scavenger hunt throughout the resort. They can also gather in the hotel lobby from 3pm to 6pm daily for engaging board games and creative turkey crafts.
Locals supporting locals
Perhaps the most beautiful thing following the storms has been seeing locals support each other, and the JW Marriott is no exception. As they celebrate the re-opening of the island, they’ve announced tons of discounts for locals, giving us yet another excuse to treat ourselves to a little luxury after all the recent stress.
Through the end of November, all area residents will receive 20% off at Latitude 28 or The Deep End, complete with complimentary valet to make your night out as easy as possible. Also through November 30, locals can book any 50-minute or 100-minute spa service, Monday-Thursday, and receive 25% off. This will also include complimentary valet parking, up to 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy® Points, and even access to the resort pool and hot tub.
And don’t skip the fun this holiday season, as the resort is going to be jam-packed with holiday cheer. You can enjoy the specialty holiday cocktail menu, take in the amazing Gingerbread Village, send a letter to Santa, or take part in the holiday craft table. And for special occasions, JW Marriott Clearwater Beach is the go-to destination for Christmas Eve and Christmas Night dinner, Christmas brunch with Santa, New Year’s Eve, and their special Hideaway After Dark nights for younger guests.
Check out the full list of holiday events and festivities here. Plus, their holiday resort stay package may be the best deal around, which comes with free breakfast for two at Latitude 28.
As you make your plans during this stretch of beautiful Florida weather, we highly recommend a day or three at JW Marriott Clearwater Beach.
