Humane Society looks to clear the shelter with free pet adoptions

Humane Society of Tampa Bay joins hundreds of shelters across the country in offering waived and reduced pet adoption frees on August 17.

Do you want to rescue a dog? That’s a rhetorical question, of course. I think most if not all of us would love to give a loving home to as many pups as possible. One barrier is often the cost of adoption. On August 17, The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is waiving the cost and offering free pet adoptions.

Clear the Shelters is about saving as many lives as possible. Participating shelters across the country will offer waived and reduced pet adoption fees, according to the Humane Society’s event page.

The event is meant to highlight the overcrowding that occurs at so many shelters across the U.S. during the summer months. Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has resulted in 256,688 adoptions.

Clear the Shelters runs from 10am-5pm at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, which is located at 3607 North Armenia Avenue.
