Doc B's Fresh Kitchen recently opened its doors at the International Plaza in Tampa. The franchise has two locations in Chicago and one soon-to-open in Ft. Lauderdale.
The restaurant boldly began serving in Tampa during the holiday rush at the International Plaza. Their blend of healthy entrees and sinfully good desserts (we're looking at you, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cheesecake) and refined cocktail menu have made them an immediate go-to for couples and families.
The restaurant holds a commitment to using fresh ingredients. Doc B's partners with local farmers to create a sense of transparency from farm to fork.
The menu satisfies all palates. The Napa, a burger featuring avocado and arugula, offered a surprise burst of freshness. The Knuckle Sandwich (Maine Lobster on a traditional roll) is straight-forward perfection. The California Artichokes might be one of the best starters we've enjoyed in Tampa.
If your taste-buds are in the mood for a more formal dining experience we highly recommend the Double-Cut Berkshire Pork Chop and the Center-Cut Filet Mignon. Both cuts offer zenith-inducing flavors.
On the lighter side, Doc B's California Salad (kale and roasted garlic dressing, pistachio, dried cranberries, roasted sweet potato) may sway even the most profound of appetites toward green. The same can be said of the Brussels Sprout Salad (kale, marcona almonds tossed in parmigiano reggiano vinaigrette).
Of course the main-event is always dessert. Rob's Double Decker Chocolate Cake and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cheesecake will make you unlearn the word "full."
The cocktail menu at Doc B's impressed further. "The 'Beet'lejuice" (CH gin, all organic beet juice, mint and lemon) is a true tropical refresher and perfect for (Florida) winter weather. The Bloody Maria (Tequila Avion, jalapeno, fresh herbs and candied bacon) is the wake-up call you'll learn to crave.
Doc B's is located at the International Plaza, 2223 North Westshore Boulevard. If you're getting some last-minute holiday shopping done, we suggest you fuel up here.
