Carvie’s Chopped Cheese Deli is a first of its kind in Tampa. Located at 3318 Henderson Blvd, this shop is growing a huge following for the sandwiches crafted by Chef Sean Champé. For those curious, the chopped cheese is a sandwich made on a grill with ground beef (typically pre-formed ground beef patties), onions, adobo or other seasonings, and cheese, all of which are chopped together on the grill as the meat and onions cook and the cheese melts.

This spot first came on our radar after a video posted by Famous Kid Brick on Instagram.

This delicacy originated in New York City, and now it’s delighting diners across the city. The menu includes the famous chopped cheese, in addition to a wake and bake version of the sandwich, beef empanadas, a variety of tasty wings, crispy crinkle cut cheese fries with their signature bull sauce, hot ham and cheese, and more savory options.

The chopped cheeses you can choose from when visiting:

  • Buccaneer: Beer battered onion rings, gooey mozzarella cheese, sweet and spicy barbecue, bacon lardons.
  • Mr. Hero: Fried Italian meats, house dressing, lettuce, tomato, thinly sliced onions, American Swiss cheese, kewpie mayo.
  • Henderson Bull: Fried cheese, fried salami, chopped cabbage, bull sauce.
  • Hot Chick: Mozzarella, blue cheese, buffalo sauce, diced tomatoes, lettuce, celery and ranch.

Breakfast tacos, a Tampa Cuban sandwich, pastrami potato cakes, home fries, and Reubens round out this stellar deli menu. You can follow CarVies on Instagram to see more menu offerings.
