New luxury condominium planned for Bayshore Boulevard by same group behind Ritz Carlton

A new luxury condo tower could be coming soon to beautiful Bayshore Boulevard. This is the latest endeavor from the Related Group, the same team bringing The Ritz Carlton to Bayshore Boulevard. The new boutique structure is the result of a deal between Related Group and the Congregation Rodeph Sholom. The news was first confirmed by The Tampa Bay Business Journal, and later reported by the Tampa Bay Times. Under the contract, Related Group would acquire a portion of the synagogue’s property on Bayshore Boulevard.

The synagogue will sell approximately an acre of its property along Bayshore and Barcelona Street. The portion of the site that’s home to a preschool and the synagogue’s parking lot will be redeveloped. If all goes according to plan, Related Group should close on site in January 2024.

This new development will feature 60 residential units, according to a report by TBBJ, and the first floor of its garage will include parking for the synagogue. Related Group’s proposal will allow the synagogue to maintain its presence on Bayshore Boulevard.

Miami-based related group continues to expand its footprint in the ever competitive real estate scene here in the city of Tampa. The first residents at its Ritz Carlton development should move in the first quarter of 2021.

Nothing is set in stone just yet. The development property will have to be rezoned to make way for the condominium. Rezoning requests require a public hearing before Tampa City Council. So the developers and the synagogue will need community support in order make this project a reality.
