Tampa International Airport (TPA) just launched new direct flights to Tweed Airport in New Haven, CT on November 8.

More travel news for Tampa International Airport: Avelo Airlines is adding new direct routes from TPA to New Haven, CT this November. Yes, that means you can get cheap flights to some of the best pizza in America. You can find this writer enjoying a pie from Sally’s (my old hometown favorite).

“We are looking forward to bringing more choice, affordability and the Avelo Soul of Service to Tampa,” said Levy, who serves as Avelo’s Chairman and CEO. “With nonstop flights to one of the area’s most hassle-free airports, travelers from Tampa will now have a smoother way to visit Southern Connecticut and experience all the region has to offer.”

TPA now serves 80 destinations across the globe, and the addition of New Haven is fantastic for recent transplants from the area.

Avelo Airlines brings Tampa residents direct to New Haven

New Haven is home to a fantastic performing arts scene, is home base for Yale University, is home to one of the most celebrated pizza restaurants in the country, Pepes, and is the birthplace of the hamburger (as recognized by the Library of Congres). Seriously, if you get the chance, hit up Louis’ Lunch. The family run institution opened in 1895 and their burger is just a marvel — no condiments required.
