The Skip the Straw Challenge is taking over Tampa. Over the last couple of weeks major organizations like the Girl Scouts of West Florida and Sparkman Wharf have pledged to rid themselves of plastic straws and promote members of the community to do the same. Now, Tampa International Airport joins them.

No plastic straws in staff cafeteria
Officials announced on December 20 that all full-service restaurants in airport terminals would only supply customers with plastic straws if they’re specifically requested. TPA took it one step further by announcing they’re totally doing away with plastic straws in the staff cafeteria.
Ichicoro, Mis En Place, Bella’s Cafe and Raw Smoothie Co., among other local businesses, have already stepped up to the plate to help diminish the amount of plastic waste dumped into our waters year after year.
