Vicente Martinez-Ybor Bicentennial Celebration
Friday, September 7 from 5 pm to 7 pmCelebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Vicente Martinez-Ybor, who led the way for the establishment of Tampa’s iconic cigar industry and founded Ybor City. Attendees will enjoy live music by the HCC Ybor Alumni Jazz Band, light refreshments, domino games, cigar rolling demonstrations, a Bolita-Style drawing for prizes, and other activities representative of Ybor City’s cultural heritage. Admission is free and open to the public. Reservations are required and attendees must present their printed tickets at the event registration table.

Going For The Gold 5K Walk to Run Clinic
Saturday, September 8 from 9 am to 11 am This training is designed for walkers, joggers, intermediate runners, and competitive runners. The training will include information sharing and activity sessions lead by running expert and School Board member Lynn Gray. The training will also include a technique analysis and a Q & A component. Participants will learn skill and fitness level appropriate strategies that will enable them to engage in a lifetime of safe and healthy movement.

Speakers Boot Camp
Saturday, September 8 from 1:30 pm to 3 pm This is a Speaker Bootcamp, 5 weeks to be a better you. Learn to develop better communication and evaluation skills including learning to create and organize your thoughts in an impromptu exercise- your 2-minute “elevator” conversation while learning in a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every participant has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
