Tampa International Airport (TPA) is gearing up for a bustling Thanksgiving travel season, expecting nearly 80,000 daily passengers from November 21 through December 2. This 13-day period may rival last year’s record-breaking Thanksgiving travel, solidifying its spot as one of the airport’s busiest times of the year.
The peak travel day is projected to be Sunday, November 24, with approximately 85,724 passengers anticipated. To manage the higher volumes, TPA encourages travelers to plan ahead and prepare for a lively holiday rush.

Parking and ride-share updates
With parking demand expected to spike, TPA advises reserving parking in advance through its online system. Repairs to the roof of the Short Term Parking Garage, damaged during Hurricane Milton, are nearing completion and will provide additional capacity for holiday travelers.
For those opting for ride-share services like Uber and Lyft, TPA recommends using the Blue Express Curbsides to reduce congestion and ensure smoother pick-ups, especially during peak times.
Construction projects may affect wait times
Travelers should factor in potential delays from ongoing construction projects, including security checkpoint expansions at Airsides A and E and shuttle replacements. To avoid any disruptions, TPA urges arriving at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures.
TPA remains dedicated to maintaining its reputation as one of the nation’s top large airports by offering a seamless travel experience, even during the busy holiday season. For updates, parking reservations, and travel tips, visit TampaAirport.com.
