Mochinut is everywhere. A couple of years ago we typed with such feverish fluidity and enthusiasm that a singular Mochinut would debut in Temple Terrace. The day that Mochinut opened a line formed around the plaza with excited diners waiting to sink their teeth into an ube donut, or a cheesy, crunchy Korean corn dog. Down the line, another location was announced for neighboring Pinellas Park. This flaky, sweet donut ASMR haven just continues to grow.
Forthcoming locations now include:

“Mochi donut is the titillating product of the happy union between Japanese rice cake (mochi) and American-style doughnuts, which originated in Hawaii,” writes the Mochinut team. These desserts are super sweet, very flaky, and offer one of the most satisfying crunches you’ve ever enjoyed.
The rice flour makes the donuts stretchy and chewy. “There is a sticky addictiveness to each bite, a textural element that is completely different from yeast or cake donuts,” write the owners on the Mochinut website.
Donut flavors include ube, matcha, strawberry, banana milk, mango, churro, and black sugar. You’ll find ample boba flavors to pair with the morning or afternoon snack. The purple Ube boba is already calling my name.
