Ben & Jerry’s announces grand opening in Midtown Tampa

We live in Florida, so it’s only natural that we have a plethora of frozen treat options. Soon, the ice cream monolith known as Ben & Jerry’s will host its grand opening in Midtown Tampa. On March 8, residents in Midtown will get to experience all the funky goodness that this ubiquitous scoop shop has to offer.

The ice cream purveyor was originally founded in Burlington, VT back in 1978. Over the course of nearly 4 decades the company has delights kids and adults with its inventive ice cream flavors. In addition to classics such as Cherry Garcia and Chubby Hubby, Ben & Jerry’s has branched out to serve certified gluten-free, and vegan pints.

The company put out this quote in a release celebrating its anticipated arrival: “Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop is coming to Midtown Tampa! The Scoop Shop will be located near Midtown Commons and will have all your favorite ice cream and certified vegan Non-Dairy flavors, plus waffle cones, sundaes, shakes, smoothies, and ice cream catering services.”

Midtown is bursting with new businesses

This is just another in a long line of exciting debuts at Midtown Tampa. Ponte Tampa is set to bring the much missed flavors of Cafe Ponte back to the city. New Orleans-based Walk-ons Bistreaux is prepping to bring its blend of LA inspired cuisine to Tampa, with plenty of beignets in tow.

True Food Kitchen, New England-style pizza spot Colony Grill, and a huge food hall are all set to open in the next year, too.

The Ben & Jerry’s Grand Opening will take place March 8 from 1:30-5:30pm. Festivities will include a live DJ, face painting, story time, a craft table, and plenty of samplings.
