Four must-visit local markets to check out in Tampa

With the holiday season coming in hot, now is the perfect time of year to shop local, whether it’s produce and baked goods for yourself or local artwork and home goods for loved ones. Here in Tampa, we’re fortunate to have no shortage of great local markets to help us find all of that and much, much more.

No matter where in the area you live, or what your work schedule, there’s something perfect for you. And these are just some of our Tampa-based favorites. If you feel like a drive into Pinellas County, our friends at Tampa Bay Markets have even more options for you. And at all Tampa Bay Markets, they’ve introduced some family fun with their new scavenger hunts: complete the hunt and take home a prize!

Seminole Heights Sunday Morning Market

Hosted on the second Sunday of each month, this market has been going strong for nearly 15 years, and it’s a local favorite for good reason. The Seminole Heights Sunday Morning Market is hosted on the lawn at Hillsborough High School from 10am – 2pm October-May, and 9am – 1pm June-September. 

This vibrant market features over 60 local vendors offering everything from fresh produce and artisanal goods to delicious food and unique handmade items. Enjoy live local music as you stroll through the market, which is both dog-friendly and family-friendly, with free parking available.

Sunday Market At Westshore Marina District

The Sunday Market At Westshore Marina District is hosted every 4th Sunday at 4900 Bridge Street, and the waterfront market has become a quick favorite among those in the know since its launch. Few experiences offer a more enjoyable representation of the neighborhood and all that it has to offer. 

With over 50 vendors, this vibrant market offers a diverse selection of fresh produce, handcrafted goods, delicious food, and unique local finds. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the marina, this market is both family and pet-friendly, creating a perfect Sunday outing. Enjoy live music, take in the scenic views, and explore all the offerings from our local vendors.

The Sunday Market At Westshore Marina District takes place every fourth Sunday from 9am – 2pm October-May, and 9am – 1pm June-September.

Sunset Market Midtown

The arrival of Midtown Tampa has created an incredible market space, and two of our favorite market experiences now take place in Midtown Commons. The Sunset Market Midtown is hosted every first Thursday from 6-10 pm at 3659 Midtown Drive.

A rare weeknight market, this is a great way to end your day, featuring live music, dinner bites and local shopping with makers from the Bay Area. This market is dog-friendly and parking is located in the garage at Midtown.

Sunshine Market at Midtown Tampa

The second of the new markets at Midtown Tampa, and this one is the perfect Saturday morning excursion after recently expanding to more than 70 vendors. Sunshine Market at Midtown Tampa takes place every 4th Saturday in Midtown Commons from 10am – 3pm October – May, and 10am – 2pm June – September.

Shop with an incredible array of local makers, including producers of local agriculture, take-home foods, baked goods, art, jewelry and much more. Live music kicks off at 10am sharp on the green, bringing even more energy to the popular market. The market is dog-friendly and parking is located in the garage at Midtown.
