Metro saw hundreds of individuals turn out for the first event, and decided to meet the demand by putting this career fair together again.
The organization announced that Cal Jackson, the Director of Diversity at TechData, will deliver a keynote address at the event.
“As a member of the LGBTQ+ community with friends and family alike, I found it important to offer a safer space where members of the community can come without hesitation and fear to seek career opportunities,” said Nate Taylor, METRO’s Division Director of Community Initiatives. “Working in this community for over 10 years, I often heard stories around not being accepted, judged and/or treated differently because of gender identity and sexual orientation.”
Franklin Templeton, the City of St. Petersburg, Chase Bank, Grow Financial, McKinsey & Co., Raymond James, Bayfront Health, Paychex are among the businesses that will be in attendance.
The career fair will be held in the Grand Hall of Metro’s Community Center (3251 3rd Avenue North) in St. Pete from 10am-4pm. You can learn more on METRO’s Facebook event page.
METRO Inclusive Health has big plans for Tampa, too. The nonprofit recently revealed plans for a massive new facility at the historic German American Club in Ybor City.
Interested businesses, organizations, and community participants should contact Nate Taylor, Division Director of Community Initiatives at Metro Inclusive Health: natet@metrotampabay.org or 727-321-3854 x 1285.
