Winter Village brings ice skating and magical lights to downtown Tampa

multiple string lights wrapped around Christmas trees on the waterfront

Tampa’s Winter Village is making a festive return from November 22 to January 5, transforming Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (600 N Ashley Dr) into a holiday wonderland along the Tampa Riverwalk. From 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., visitors can explore the charming vendor village, where local artisans offer unique gifts perfect for holiday shopping. The ice rink stays open until 11 p.m., giving skaters plenty of time to glide into the holiday spirit.

Filled with seasonal treats and cozy hot chocolate stations, Winter Village offers a perfect way to get into the festive mood. While Tampa may not have snow, Winter Village delivers plenty of holiday magic. For those craving more wintery fun, Snowcat Ridge Alpine Snow Park, located just outside Tampa, is another option to consider.

Ice skating fun at Winter Village

Ice skating fans can look forward to tickets going on sale November 1 for $17, which includes 90 minutes on the ice and skate rentals. Whether you’re skating with friends, family, or on a festive date, Winter Village’s rink is a must-do holiday activity.

This year, Winter Village is also introducing a Holiday Tree Decorating Contest from December 7-9. Teams can showcase their creativity by designing unique holiday trees. The application fee is $25, and teams have until October 31 to apply, with selected participants notified on November 7.

To join in on the holiday fun or to submit a tree design, contact Ivy Lupco at ilupco@tampasdowntown.com. For more information, follow Winter Village on Facebook.
