Wicked Oak BBQ debuts inside Amalie Arena

Wicked Oak BBQ is pure fire. I think about the meat candy that are their burnt ends every single day. This locally owned and operated passion project is expanding and can now be enjoyed inside Amalie Arena, home of our Tampa Bay Lightning. Felix “Bubba” Flores officially opened Wicked Oak’s brick-and-mortar restaurant in Seminole Heights back in September 2020.

Smoked meats and wicked eats are Wicked Oak BBQ’s claims to fame. They bring award-winning, slow-smoked meats to the table, along with heaping homestyle sides and homemade sauces. Their secret to success? Keeping BBQ simple and classic.

“To say this is a dream come true is an understatement. Thank you to the team at AMALIE Arena and Cur(ate) TPA for working with us to make this happen,” wrote Flores in an Instagram post announcing the expansion.

Wicked Oak BBQ grows in the city of Tampa

We don’t imagine the full Wicked Oak menu will be on display at Amalie, so if you want to full immerse yourself in the Wicked Oak flavor, we recommend visiting them at 6607 N Florida Avenue.

Looking for something a little different? Try the Smoke Bomb. This loaded smoked potato is filled with pulled pork, queso, shredded cheese, green onion, sour cream, and wicked BBQ sauce. Wicked Oak’s most popular menu item may be the Tampa Two. The dish features pulled brisket, mac n’ cheese and queso in between two pieces of buttery Texas toast grilled to perfection.

The Dirty Dog could conquer even the most voracious eater. Jalapeño and cheddar infused smoked sausage is served on a roll and topped with Bubba’s slow smoked, award winning pulled pork, shredded cheese and queso.
