America’s biggest gymnastics competition is coming to Tampa in 2027. USA Gymnastics announced that the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and the 2027 USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show will be hosted in Downtown Tampa next August.

The competition is one of the biggest moments on the world stage as gymnasts compete for spots on the U.S. Olympic team just 11 months before the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Benchmark International Arena will host the Championships competition (August 12-15), while the Tampa Convention Center will host the accompanying congress and trade show festivities (August 13-15). All-session packages are available now.

Not only will this be one of the biggest gymnastics competitions across the globe, but it could also feature some of the biggest stars on the planet with several Olympic sensations having announced a return to competition ahead of the 2028 Olympics.

On the women’s side, recently-crowned 2026 all-around World Champion Skye Blakely is expected to compete, while three-time Olympic medalist Jade Carey has also returned to competition. Meanwhile, six-time medalist Suni Lee and three-time medalist Jordan Chiles have announced their plans to rejoin competition before the upcoming Olympics, too.

As for the men, defending U.S. all-around champion and 2024 Olympic team bronze medalist Frederick Richard headlines a 2027 field that is expected to include his Olympic medal-winning teammates Brody Malone, Asher Hong, and “Pommel Horse Guy” Stephen Nedoroscik, as well as 2025 still rings World gold medalist Donnell Whittenburg and 2025 pommel horse World bronze medalist Patrick Hoopes.

“The Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and National Congress serve as the pinnacle of our domestic season, and we could not be more excited to bring these events back to Tampa,” USA Gymnastics President and CEO Kyle Albrecht said. “Florida is part of one of the sport’s most active and robust regions, and athletes will be locked in as they prepare for the 2027 World Championships and, ultimately, the 2028 Olympic Trials and Olympic Games. We look forward to an amazing weekend for the sport.”

“We are excited to once again host USA Gymnastics in Tampa,” said Tampa Bay Sports Commission Executive Director Lanness Robinson. “Being able to provide the setting for 2027 National Championships at Benchmark International Arena is an honor that Team Tampa Bay doesn’t take lightly. Tampa is a first-class destination and the athletes competing are equally ready to bring out their very best.”
