Urban Hawkers Food Hall opening in Tampa Heights

Urban Hawkers, a new food hall serving up Asian-inspired cuisine, is taking over the old Hall on Franklin space in Tampa Heights. Signage went up over the summer of 2021, and construction has begun on the interior. “Tampa’s first Asian Eatery Food Hall experience. A whole lot of flavorful flares coming to Tampa!” wrote the founding partners in a post announcing the concept at the end of 2021.

The story was first reported by Creative Loafing Tampa back in August. Victoria Vo, a founding partner of Urban Hawkers, told Creative Loafing that “we are in an underserved community when it comes to Asian cuisine.” This is part of the impetus behind Urban Hawkers. Vo is also the co-founder and CCBO of BreakOut Social.

A brand new Asian food hall in the heart of Tampa

This food hall won’t operate as The Hall on Franklin did, however. Guests will visit one or more food stalls serving up different recipes that will all operate simultaneously in the space. Communal tables will be set for guests to dine at their leisure. It’s extraordinarily similar to how Armature Works, also in Tampa Heights, operates.

An opening timeline for Urban Hawkers is still TBA. There’s still a bit of work left to be done on the interior renovations. but we know this Asian eatery will be well worth the wait. You can keep up with Urban Hawkers by following the food hall on Instagram.
