These are the droids you’re looking for, Tampa. The Empire Strips Back, a touring burlesque Star Wars parody, is coming to Tampa Bay from a galaxy far, far away. The show will take place at Centro Asturiano de Tampa (1913 N Nebraska Ave) this February. Described as “a unique blend of seduction and sci-fi,” The Empire Strips Back “takes you on a journey to the dark side!” Advanced tickets will be available on December 11 at 11 a.m.
Complete with Storm Troopers, Jedi Knights, Sith Lords, Princess Leia, Droids, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine, this show subverts the beloved saga with an erotic twist. The costumes are immaculate, and the dance performances are electric. Time to blast some epic John Williams tunes.
