Tampa to the Bahamas is a 52-minute flight; here’s our weekend itinerary

People by and in the water in the Bahams

When my teammate Kelly and I were invited by Tampa International Airport (aka the best airport in the world) to experience Breeze Airways’ inaugural nonstop flight from Tampa to Nassau, we jumped at the opportunity. We got from dropoff to our gate in 10 minutes, and that set the tone for the whole trip. Between the flight clocking in at only 52 minutes and the amazing experience in the Bahamas, it quickly became the perfect weekend, and we highly recommend adding this to your travel list.

After an easy arrival and warm Bahamian welcome, we checked into the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and kicked off the weekend with poolside daiquiris, turquoise-water swims, and plenty of sunshine. One of our favorite days included giant croissants from Café Madeleine, frozen piña coladas on the beach, and an afternoon at the resort’s water park, where the lazy river quickly became a trip highlight.

Our biggest adventure was a trip to Blue Lagoon Island, where we snorkeled with nurse sharks in crystal-clear water. Back at Baha Mar, we visited Flamingo Cay, enjoyed incredible seafood, and capped off one evening with island views and a competitive game of Uno at Sky Bar.

What stood out most was how easy it all felt. In less than an hour, we traded our daily routine for crystal-clear water, island culture, and a true tropical escape. Thanks to Breeze’s new nonstop service, the Bahamas feels closer than ever and after a weekend like this, I already know I’ll be back.
