The Tampa Bay ICEBOX is a street legal Zamboni that travels through Downtown Tampa before Tampa Bay Lightning games. And you can hitch a ride on this wild, oh so Florida vehicle.
What do you get when you combine one man’s love for Zambonis with a desire to give back to the community he loves? You get the Tampa Bay ICEBOX. That’s what the team behind the dream have to say about the fun happening.

The Tampa Bay ICEBOX is the brainchild of local Tampa businessman Mark Farrell, who combined his love for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Zambonis, and the local Tampa community by building the first and only street-modified Zamboni in the country. The vehicle is the body of a Zamboni ice resurfacer on the chassis of a van to allow greater flexibility in transporting the vehicle.
Tampa Bay ICEBOX gives free rides in Tampa
Mark created this vehicle to not only provide a fun way to travel to and from downtown Tampa events, but to also raise money for local charities. Rides are free, but donations will be accepted. All donations will be given to the following local Tampa Bay charities: On Bikes, Redefining Refuge, and Lighthouse Ministries.
The Tampa Bay ICEBOX will begin running an hour and a half prior to Tampa Bay Lightning home games – 5:30 PM for 7 PM games; 6 PM for 7:30 PM games; 6:30 PM for 8 PM games. First pick-ups of the night will be at Grand Central in Channelside (E. Madison St. next to the Pour House). Subsequent pick-ups will be at parking lots along Cass Street and Morgan Street. All riders will be dropped off in front of Amalie Arena. After the game ends, riders can catch the ICEBOX where they were dropped off in front of Amalie Arena.
