Supernatural Food & Wine is Tampa’s hotspot for sourDonuts, and breakfast sandwiches

Exterior of a small sandwich and donut counter with a colorful mural

Supernatural Food and Wine (305 E Polk Street) has quickly become a breakfast and lunch mainstay in Downtown Tampa, and it even has a to-go window for fresh cinnamon sugar sourDonuts. According to Food Network and Travel Channel star Alton Brown, it also makes one of the best breakfast sandwiches ever.

It is the coolest hidden gem in the city of Tampa — and right around the corner from the iconic Hub Bar and Tampa Theatre. The small food counter is bursting with fresh, unique flavors. To start, Supernatural Food & Wine’s fresh cinnamon sugar donuts are a New England transplant’s dream come true. If you want one, you should definitely pre-order on Supernatural Food & Wine’s website. These cinnamon-sugar wheels sell fast.

The best donuts in the city of Tampa

Many may recognize the mural-covered exterior as the home of Nojaks, which made the best burger in Tampa in my personal opinion. Owner Wesley Roderick and the old crew at Nojaks are of course behind Supernatural Food & Wine and every bit of TLC you experienced at Nojaks is delivered in equal measure at the new concept.

Of the classic sandwiches on the menu, here are three you need to keep on your radar:

  • Tuna Salad Delux: Delicious Fresh, Herbaceous tuna salad on toasty multigrain bread, lettuce, tomato & fresh red Onion
  • Italian Stallion: Pepper salad; lettuce & tomato; served on a delicious Ciabatta-baguette.
  • Bacon, Egg, and Cheddar Sandwich: Toasty Focaccia bun, Thick cut bacon, Soft cooked egg, Extra sharp cheddar and their house sauce. (The one Alton Brown had)
  • Rotisserie Chicken Salad Delux: Roasted chicken salad mixed with Mayo, dijon & raisins. Lettuce & tomato on sourdough.
  • Chickpea Salad Supreme: Housemade Chickpea salad on toasty sourdough with avocado, lettuce, tomato & a little green ranch.

Massive vegan sandwiches on the go

If you have a sweet tooth, then you can indulge in the incredible Katie’s Fine Cookies. Tiramisu and tasty date oat milkshakes are also available for the particularly famished.

There is an impressive selection of all-natural wines, with bottles ranging from $15-$35 dollars. If you’re on the move, the shop also serves up office lunch packs.
