The 11th Annual International Cuban Sandwich Festival returns to Centennial Park in Tampa on May 29. There’s no better way to welcome in the new season than with plate after plate of savory lechon.

This year, as with every year, participants will look to set a world record when they construct a Cuban sandwich longer than 200 feet in length. In years past, vendors have traveled from Los Angeles, Atlanta, France, and even South Korea to compete for the official “Best Cuban Sandwich” title.

Festival goers will also enjoy an array of live music performances, and will get to actively participate in selecting the best Cuban sandwich at the event. Your thirst will also be quenched courtesy of some of the finest cafe con leche you’ve ever experienced.

Last year’s winners include Datz for its traditional Cuban sandwich, and Cozy’s Cafe overall. Looking to celebrate a little early? One of the largest Gasparilla celebrations ever is set for the end of January in the city of Tampa.
