Grey Salt wows diners in first month

The Seminole Hard Rock Casino's new restaurant, Grey Salt, opened just under a month ago. The Mediterranean-inspired menu by Chopped judge and renowned Chef, Marc Murphy, has wowed diners since its inception.

Murphy sees Grey Salt as an extension of his childhood foodie influences. The dishes have both French and Italian roots. Murphy has been able to incorporate locally sourced ingredients and produce into his vision.

The restaurant's unparalleled bar program, featuring local brews and eclectic mix of liquors and craft cocktails, enhances the flavorful experience at the restaurant.

Diners have gushed over the grilled pineapple (above), roasted clams (below), grilled octopus and their grilled sour dough bread. Grey Salt's arrival furthers Tampa's reputation as a foodie capital not just in Florida, but in the U.S..

Portillo's plans second Tampa location

The Chicago Tribune reports that Portillo's, purveyor of Chicago-style hot dogs, is seeking to open a second location in Tampa (before their first opens its doors). In the, article Portillo's owner, Nick Scarpino, "seeks to build a 9,020-square-foot spot, with a drive-thru at 2102 East Fowler Avenue." 

We'll never complain about more Chicago-style food in the downtown area. The company's expanded interest in the area also represents Tampa's continous growth as an entrepreneurial destination.
