As we look ahead to Shop Small Saturday, our That’s So Tampa team is taking the opportunity to highlight some of our favorite local independent businesses. So much of what we love about Tampa is because of small businesses, and when we look around our homes, they are filled with color (and flavor) thanks to our favorite indie shops.
From our bedroom closets to our kitchen cupboards and everything in between, life is filled with little local pieces of joy thanks to the makers, creators, artists, and purveyors of Tampa’s most cherished small businesses.

We could list hundreds, but for the sake of space we kept our list to a clean 25. Did we miss something great? Shoot us an email at info@thatssotampa.com so we can make sure to feature it. And whether it’s one of these or another local star, be sure to shop small this Saturday (and everyday!)
And before we get to the list, we should point one incredible way to shop hundreds of small businesses in one go: this weekend’s Shopapalooza in St. Pete. It is one of the country’s biggest small business festivals, with more than 300 shops, artists, makers, and businesses represented. Plus, they have tons of food trucks, live entertainment, a beer tent, games for kids, and more. Festivities take place Saturday and Sunday in Vinoy Park in St. Pete. Get all the details here.
