Tampa waterfront restaurant named one of the “Best Florida Beach Bars” by Southern Living

Salt Shack on the Bay is one of the most scenic restaurants in Tampa. This hub also gives those laid-back beachy vibes residents and visitors crave on the weekends. The New York Times recently regarded it as one of the best waterfront restaurants in America. Now Southern Living is ranking it as one of the 12 Best Beach Bars in Florida.

“Not only does this beach bar have excellent sunset views of Tampa Bay and delightful frozen drinks, the food here is worth a trip alone,” wrote the editors of Southern Living. “The Salt Shack is a charmingly rustic, open-air restaurant with a “gulf to table” menu that spotlights locally-caught seafood in dishes like Smoked Mahi Fish Spread, Bahamian Conch Chowder, and Avocado Shrimp Salad.”

Salt Shack on the Bay has to be one of the best spots to enjoy golden hour in the state of Florida. There are no walls to obstruct your views. The restaurant and bar frequently hosts live music performances and always has an array of fresh seasonal specials to indulge in. 

“The sprawling menu has a vague Caribbean bent, with jackfruit tacos dressed in jicama slaw and jerk burgers with fries, but the real gold is anything that lets all that great Gulf seafood shine,” wrote New York Times Editor Kim Severson.
