“This mural is entitled ‘Give Me My Flowers’ and is a contemporary approach to the intersection between art and activism,” writes Nneka Jones on Instagram. “It reflects on climate change and acts as a response to the effects of warmer temperatures and rising sea levels. Ultimately, the bold colors and use of flowers is meant to prompt us to fall deeper in love with mother nature and gain a greater appreciation for her beauty and purity.”

Jones‘ has previously been commissioned by Disney to create a hand sewn cover for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Her work has also been featured in TIME, and The Washington Post.
