Morgan’s Cove, a new pirate-themed speakeasy, debuts in Tampa

“Look for the wooden door & red light.” That’s the message that lures new cocktail enthusiasts to Tampa’s newest bar, Morgan’s Cove. The pirate-themed speakeasy, located at 210 N Morgan Street, is the latest venture by the team that brought Don the Beachcomber to Pinellas County.

Named after the legendary pirate Henry Morgan, this new establishment captures the adventurous spirit of its namesake. Henry Morgan, commissioned by the Kingdom of England, spent much of his life in the Caribbean, seizing Spanish ships and invading colonies in Jamaica, Cuba, and Venezuela. For his exploits, he was knighted by King Charles II in 1674.

Halfway to Gasparilla Party set for this July

Morgan’s Cove complements its sister property, the British pub Yeoman’s, situated next door on Morgan Street in Tampa. This seaside pirate tavern offers an immersive experience where visitors can step into a world of pirates, plunderers, and privateers. Patrons can enjoy a wide selection of rum, whiskey, and other spirits, reminiscent of the gatherings of yesteryear’s seafarers who boasted of their high-seas adventures and encounters with mythical sea creatures.

Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for a unique place to unwind, Morgan’s Cove promises a memorable escape to a bygone era of maritime lore and legend. Now let’s bump some sea shanty tunes and party like pirates. It’s going to be Gasparilla year-round at this new cocktail hub.

Follow Morgan’s Cove on Instagram and its website for more info. They also have a big Halfway to Gasparilla Party planned for July 27. Find more info on the festivities here.
