Tampa Bay’s go-to hot chicken spot is ready to serve up the most flavorful tenders during the first-ever Lunch on the Plaza at Centro Ybor (1600 E 8th Avenue). The event will take place on Wednesday, December 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
King of the Coop has been a staple in the Tampa community for years, and their fiery chicken tenders are among the best concessions you can find at Amalie Arena during Tampa Bay Lightning games. This inaugural event aims to serve the community while driving more foot traffic to historic Ybor City during the holiday season.

King of the Coop made the announcement in collaboration with Centro Ybor on Instagram. Although the date for the next Lunch on the Plaza event hasn’t been announced yet, we’re excited to see if it will provide more opportunities for up-and-coming chefs and top local restaurants to showcase their offerings to a whole new audience.
Centro Ybor is a shopping and dining destination
Centro Ybor is located at 1600 E 8th Avenue. The plaza is home to a variety of venues and restaurants, including Funny Bone Comedy Club, Asiatic Street Food and Noodle Bar, Industrious Tampa, Mayday Ice Cream, and Society Wine Bar, among other local favorites.
The plaza also features the beautiful Ybor City Christmas Tree, which is well worth visiting in the evening. As the name suggests, Centro Ybor places you in the heart of the historic district, just a short walk from The Ritz Ybor for a show or Blind Tiger for an excellent cup of coffee. Along the way, you’ll find plenty of spots to shop for gifts, clothes, and cigars.
