One of the biggest names in comedy this millennium is bringing his newest tour to Tampa for one night only. Jim Gaffigan, the celebrated comedian, writer and producer, will be taking over Amalie Arena on Saturday, January 4 as his “Barely Alive Tour” brings his unique brand of comedy to the region.
Gaffigan has become one of the most-loved comedians of his time thanks to his relatable and often self-deprecating observations, impressions and anecdotes. His most recent special, “The Skinny,” just debuted on Hulu in November to rave reviews, and his Barely Alive Tour offers the first chance to hear his newest bits, jokes and stories since releasing the TV special.
Tickets for the show are available now, and we expect this to be a packed-out experience and likely a sold-out arena for the superstar comedian.
Gaffigan has one of the most impressive resumes of any comedian still working today, starting with a 1999 appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman that launched his career. Since then, Gaffigan became the first comedian to reach one billion streams on Pandora, performed in front of Pope Francis, earned seven Grammy nominations, won three Emmys, became a New York Times bestseller, earned starring roles in both TV and film, and this summer sold out two shows at the prestigious Hollywood Bowl during the Netflix Is Joke Festival.
Few comedians – present or past – are as decorated and universally beloved as Gaffigan, whose mostly-clean humor and memorable impressions have endeared him to audiences across the globe. Even still, we can hardly see a box of Hot Pockets at the grocery store without thinking about his iconic stand-up bit on the typical at-home Hot Pockets experience.
Tickets to see Gaffigan and his Barely Alive Tour at Amalie Arena are available now, starting at $35. The show takes place on Saturday, January 4 at 7 pm.
