2024 is going to be a great year for film and music lovers in Tampa. Two outstanding shows are set to arrive on the Straz Center stage that will bring back two iconic properties to the big screen: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Batman (1989).
Batman (1989) is an iconic film, and more than 30 years after its premiere it continues to captivate audiences across the globe. On January 20, a live orchestra will perform Danny Elfman’s iconic, Gotham-defining score during a screening of Batman at the Straz Center.

Director Tim Burton’s Batman may be responsible for the proliferation of superhero films that seem to dominate the multiplexes. Michael Keaton’s Caped Crusader (a role he reprised in this summer’s The Flash) is appropriately brooding and revenge-driven, while Jack Nicholson’s Joker set a standard for comic book villains that few have come close to matching.
Tickets are on sale now on Straz Center’s website.
On March 22-23, see when Harry discovers a mysterious potions book in CineConcerts’ presentation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ in Concert. Projected onto a giant screen and accompanied by a live symphony orchestra, you can join in on Harry’s adventures as never before. Nicholas Hooper’s wonderful score and this classic tale combine to deliver all the adventure, humor, and suspense you remember in an experience you’ll never forget.
Tickets for performances on March 22 and 23 are now available online.
Straz Center is located at 1010 N Macinnes Place
