HaleLife Bakery is a vegan and gluten-free bakery and cafe that began in the city of Tampa. It operates a couple brick-and-mortars in the region and is ready to debut its newest location in Carrollwood on Friday, July 1 at 13713 N Dale Mabry Highway. Other locations can be found in downtown St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and South Tampa.
This is a passion project for the owners. Taylor Miller and Laura McCutcheon (son & mother) were both diagnosed with Celiac Disease one year apart back in 2008 and 2009. After being diagnosed Taylor, set out to help other kids who were going through the same struggles as a gluten-free teen by starting his blog, GlutenAway. Taylor’s blog following has grown to over 1.2 million visitors
a year.

Both Laura and Taylor started a gluten-free online expo in 2014 as a way to help those who were new to living gluten-free find new safe & great tasting products.
Bringing gluten-free and vegan desserts to Tampa
In fall of 2016, the duo opened the nation’s first dedicated gluten-free event center and learning kitchen in Clearwater. One year later, in October 2017 they proudly opened the doors to their dedicated gluten-free, dairy, soy & egg free bakery in the front of their center to continue to help serve and support their local gluten-free and Celiac community.
Their stores offer more than just desserts. Delicious breads, pretzels, quesadillas, and toasts are also on the menu. Their cookie monster donut, and peach cobbler donuts are my two favorite flavors to experience.
Here’s the official Carrollwood announcement from the ownership team: “
“You’ve waited long enough! Our Carrollwood location in North Tampa opens THIS FRIDAY 😍 We will be having a grand opening event from July 1st to 3rd, all weekend long! Will we see you there? More info to come!”
You can see more of their products, and order online by visiting the HaleLife website.
