Start your engines: from a sprawling car show to gigantic bounce houses, a mega-sized festival coming to Tampa this fall has it all. The GTE Family Motor Fest is taking over George M. Steinbrenner Field on Saturday, December 14 from 11 am – 3 pm, a must-attend family-friendly festival to raise money for local student scholarships.
Having won national awards for the curated experience, GTE Family Motor Fest is a fantastic attraction for Tampa and the entire Tampa Bay Area. The festival features an epic car show with hundreds of vehicles, some of the region’s best food trucks, and an interactive kids zone. Other activities include a GTE money machine, Tampa Bay Lightning jersey and hat giveaways, and a Lightning Alumni meet and greet.
The festival was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 12, and was (naturally) rescheduled because of the hurricanes. Organizers say they are thrilled to be able to still host the event and provide some relief for locals in need of a fun day at the park.
Best of all, the entire festival is free to attend (though you can reserve your free spot here) and all attendees will receive a complimentary four-pack of tickets to a Tampa Tarpons baseball game. And for those interested in being part of the car show, you can register to participate here. For the first time, GTE Family Motor Fest will be moving to an “Open Show” format, allowing a more holistic view for the judges. If you think you have what it takes to go up against any make or model, register today.
The car show takes place with support from Morgan Automotive Group and The Motor Enclave. Participants in the show will receive a branded t-shirt, a commemorative plaque, and four tickets to an upcoming Tampa Tarpons game. There are also VIP car show options available.
And of course, in addition to all the family-friendly fun and games, attendees are helping support locals further their education. Each year, GTE Financial awards scholarships to local students who have shown continued dedication to academic pursuits and community involvement. In the last 12 years, the program has awarded over $1 Million in scholarships to local students. All proceeds from Family Motor Fest will go towards the GTE Scholarship Program.
“Family Motor Fest is more than a car show,” said Scott Works, Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement at GTE Financial. “It’s a significant event that brings our community together. With thousands of attendees, this event showcases an array of the most incredible cars and supports a vital cause by raising funds for the GTE Student Scholarship Program, helping to invest in the education of our future leaders.”
GTE Family Motor Fest takes place Saturday, December 14 from 11 am – 3 pm at George M. Steinbrenner Field (1 Steinbrenner Dr.). Learn more and register for the car show here.
