Cousin Vinny’s, a New York-style deli, has its sights set on Seminole Heights in the city of Tampa. I’m in favor of any restaurant that reminds me of one of my all-time favorite films. The owners are bringing massive, piping hot Italian sandwiches to the city of Tampa, and delivering them direct to your door. This is a passion project for executive Chef and co-founder Vinny Andriotti, and Head of Operations and co-founder “Cuz” Russ Leone. They just launched catering services, and their official delivery launch is coming soon.

That’s right, the sandwich hot spot Cousin Vinny’s will be delivery only, at least in its early stages. They’ve recently released their menu and it’s pure NY fire. The Mambo Italian appears to be the show stealer. This behemoth is stacked with salami, prosciutto, eggplant cutlet, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, pesto, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar. You could probably squeeze a couple of meals out of that signature sammie.

Cousin Vinny’s is also offering up 8 different chicken cutlet options on the menu. These delicacies are topped with things such as Buffalo sauce, house made vodka sauce, crispy bacon, mozzarella and parmesan. A selection of salads, family style meals and Italian shredded beef (roast beasts) round out the menu. Catering options for large groups is also in the works.

The sandwich shop is described as a small conglomerate of like-minded entrepreneurs that were “brought together naturally through their Italian American heritage and deep roots in New York State,” writes the ownership team. “Our shared love for food, family, and camaraderie proves to be the appropriate synergy to be shared with others through the amazing culinary experience provided.”

Executive Chef Vinny’s passion for creating incredible dishes for family and friends quickly transitioned him into the world of private dining after University of Tampa. For over 6 years Vinny has been serving the most affluent communities in Tampa with private dining experiences – ranging from intimate settings to 30+ people.

In addition to his private dining experience, Vinny trained under five-time James Beard semifinalist, Jeannie Pierola at Edison Food + Drink Lab. Historically his focus is French cuisine with a spin of contemporary Italian American Fare, but now it’s bring the best damn sandwiches to Tampa Bay.

This restaurant will be available to order through their website, and other major food delivery apps. An opening timeline is still TBA, but you can follow Cousin Vinny’s on its website and Instagram for updates.
