Tampa’s arts scene is absolutely thriving right now. More than just a city for established painters, muralists and sculptors to showcase their pieces, Tampa is a city for up-and-coming artists to cut their teeth.
It’s an absolute treat to see platforms for new voices and visionaries to share their passion with an entire region — and our city’s newest arts fest is a testament to that.

Art LAB is an outdoor festival featuring a live painting competition. You don’t have to be a competitor to partake in the celebration. There will be activities for kids, live music and games for adults, a totally interactive balloon sculpture and more.
The second annual flagship event for Thornhill Foundation for the Arts will also be an open-air market so you can take a piece of the festival home with you.
Art LAB will also raise funds for TFA’s newest program, providing small grants to art teachers for classroom supplies.
This festival provides local Tampa Bay artists a forum to create personal 2D artwork around a theme, followed by a public gallery showing and auction.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 20, from 11am-3pm at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, which is located at 4537 Lowell Road.
