The University of Tampa’s Jacob Hamlin and Parker Knollman have secured their spots in the highly anticipated 2024 United States Olympic swim team trials. This news followers UT’s huge DII National Championship victory.
From June 15-23, Hamlin will dive into the waters at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis vying for his chance to represent the US. He’ll be competing in the 200M freestyle and the 800M freestyle events.

Knollman has secured a spot at the Olympic Trials in the 100 Meter Backstroke. All of Champa Bay stands behind the college standouts as they embark on this thrilling journey.
“I just want to go in and show them what I have (that’s) all I’m trying to do,” the freestyle distance star said in an interview with The Toronto Observer. “I’m just going to keep going and see how far I can take it.”
“Jacob doesn’t know what he doesn’t know yet, which is awesome,” UT coach Phil Murray, a former Spartan swimmer himself, said in an interview with The Toronto Observer. “(He) just doesn’t have his artificial ceilings because he doesn’t know (them) … he’s able to push through what theoretically should be a feeling for a (freshman).”
