London is calling. This November Virgin Atlantic will launch flights between Tampa International Airport (TPA) and London-Heathrow Airport. The new year-round Florida service will initially fly four times a week before increasing to daily beginning November 28, complementing the airline’s up to four daily flying to Orlando and double daily flying to Miami. This latest addition follows the airline’s launch of direct flights between London and Austin, Texas in May 2022.

Those flying from TPA will get a new taste of luxury as they soar across the pond. Virgin Atlantic will use their new Airbus A330neo for the new route. “The A330neo is the latest addition to our aircraft family. Its slender 64 metre wingspan is nearly 4 metres more than our A330-300 and helps make it one of the most efficient aircraft in the sky and able to fly further and faster,” writes Virgin Atlantic representatives.

At the front of the Upper Class cabin passengers will find two of Virgin’s most spacious suites yet. Each Retreat Suite boasts an ottoman that doubles up as an extra seat so up to four people can enjoy an intimate dinner together in their own private social space, or settle in comfort to watch a film on the 27″ touchscreen.

The airbus is equipped with Bluetooth enabled entertainment systems, the airline’s fastest ever Wi-Fi, a greater number of USB connections and wireless charging in Premium and Upper Class.

Joe Lopano, Chief Executive Officer at Tampa International Airport commented: “We at Tampa International Airport are thrilled to offer our first-ever nonstop route to Heathrow and launch this new partnership with Virgin Atlantic. Not only does this create another Tampa-London option for our leisure travelers, but there’s a huge upside for our thriving business community to now have a direct connection to the world’s premier business airport. We expect this to be a popular route during what we know will be a very busy winter travel season at TPA.”
