The 46 Story Condominium from New York’s Red Apple Group Topped Out at 515 Feet in September.

Scheduled for completion Summer 2025, The Residences at 400 Central will be a striking landmark development in St. Petersburg. The 46-story, 301-unit full-service, luxury condominium tower consisting of designer homes with modern amenities also contains 44,000 square feet of Class A office space and 58,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The New York City based Red Apple Group, helmed by John Catsimatidis Sr., acquired the vacant 2.3-acre lot that encapsulates an entire city block at 400 Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg with the intention of transforming the formerly vacant parcel into a vibrant live, work and play destination. Michael Saunders & Company launched sales of the Residences in October 2021 and the team broke ground shortly after.

With interior framing completed through the 37th floor and interior finishes installed — from drywall and flooring to cabinetry and appliances — through floor 23, construction is steadily progressing. The stunning residential finishes and features range from custom European cabinetry to top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances within a clean, contemporary, open-concept design. Amenities at The Residences at 400 Central will be intentional in design and luxurious in style. Featuring over 12,900 square feet of indoor and 23,100 square feet of outdoor private residential amenities, they will include an expansive seventh-floor tropical resort-style pool deck with cabanas and lounges surrounded by lush landscaping and oriented for sweeping views of the city. The true star of 400 Central’s amenities program is the 46th floor Sky Lounge Observatory, a glass-enclosed jewel box with rooftop terrace that highlights breathtaking panoramic vistas of St. Petersburg from Tampa Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. A modern and elegant contemporary lobby with on-site concierge service, indoor/outdoor, professional-grade fitness and wellness center, private dining and social room, theater lounge, coworking space and board room, and outdoor kitchen and dining area with barbeque grills round out the list of community spaces. The mixed-use development features a 900-space parking garage, offering secured on-site parking for both residential and commercial use. Residential owners will enjoy a designated self-parking space, along with convenient valet service.

Officially topped out, 400 Central’s 515 feet cements it as the tallest building in the city and the tallest residential building on Florida’s Gulf Coast. A crew of more than 700 workers from Suffolk Construction is helping bring the building to life. “We have taken great care and attention to refine and elevate every detail in this development to the highest level,” Catsimatidis says, “I want more than anything for this project to become both a wonderful place to live and a tremendous addition to the community.”

The project is being developed by Red Apple Real Estate and features distinctive architecture from renowned principal architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica, complimented by interiors from New York’s Vincent Celano of Celano Design Studio. Michael Saunders & Company is the exclusive sales and marketing agent for the project, with marketing and branding from Clear ph Design, and public relations from Tampa’s Tucker/Hall. The minds behind The Residences at 400 Central look forward to welcoming residents home to St. Petersburg’s most iconic new address.
