The iconic brick streets of Ybor City will soon see a revival with a project on 7th Avenue. The project’s first phase will occur between 15th and 16th Streets. Set to begin in July, the construction will result in the temporary closure of this block, marking the first phase of a broader initiative to restore the historic character of the area.
Construction is anticipated to take six weeks to complete. This effort is part of a long-term plan to reintroduce brick streets to 14 blocks of 7th Avenue, with the city aiming to tackle one block per year, according to a report by Fox 13 Tampa Bay. Funding for this project will come from property tax revenue collected within Ybor City.
