Tostones Inc., a celebrated hidden gem in the city of Tampa, has opened a brand new location at 4236 W Waters Ave.
We are huge fans of tostones, maduros, mofongo and basically any variation on the versatile plantain. So, when we we heard there was a food truck/restaurant serving tostone nachos and patacon, we came running.

Tostones Inc. sculpts green plantains into literal cups for their tostones rellenos dish. The twice fried plantain cups are filled with the meat of your choice: Latin pork, BBQ pork baked chicken, chicken salad, chicken honey siraracha, beef picadillo, avocado salad or zesty shrimp salad.
Have a hankering for nachos? Tostones Inc. takes their twice fried plantains and lines them with cabbage, meat topping of your choice and topped with pico de gallo, avocado and spicy house sauce.
What our attention in the first place is patacon o jibarito. Two green plantains are fried and smashed into buns to hold a generous portion of Latin pork. It’s the kind of irresistible snack for the diner with an insatiable appetite.
The hearty mofongo balls are an absolute revelation, too — and they’re a part of the restaurants new plantain sampler platter.
The owners also cater events in case you have a group of plantain enthusiasts attending your next get together.
Keep up with Tostones Inc on Facebook, Instagram and their website.
