Top Nada won the best traditional empanada at the Tampa Bay Empanada Festival in the spring. It was the kitchen’s beef and cheese empanada that truly wowed attendees. Owner Adam has operated the business as a pop-up for some time, but this summer Top Nada will introduce the community to its food truck. Its debut is officially set for Saturday, August 26, from 12pm-6pm (or until sold out) at Common Dialect Brewery (5023 N Florida Ave).
“My empanadas are handmade daily and all my ingredients are fresh, I use top quality ingredients for a top quality empanada. I am a HUGE foodie and I’m always cooking up something,” writes Adam. “Shout out to my Dad for helping me build this truck, to be honest my Dad gets all the props for making this truck come to life it looks better than I imagined.”

Top Nada has mostly just focused on, and specialized in empanadas, but after the food truck debuts Adam intends to offer chopped cheese, fries, loaded fries, and rice bowls.
Top Nada serves the best traditional empanada in Tampa
“I LOVE to see the smile and facial expressions when people eat my empanadas…makes me feel like I’m doing something good! One day all of Tampa will know about Top Nada,” writes Adam. His passion for cooking is evident in the empanadas he’s served to the community.
While Adam’s ultimate goal is to make empanadas so good you don’t even need sauce, I still recommend their mouthwatering chimichurri sauce.
Rotating flavors at Top Nada include:
- The Birdy Mac: Buffalo chicken with mac n cheese
- The Piggy Mac: BBQ pulled pork with mac n cheese
- The popper: Jalapeño popper chicken
- The Bubba Gump: Seasoned gulf shrimp with a garlic creole sauce with a little kick of spicy
Top Nada’s truck doesn’t have a permanent home at the moment, but they’re actively seeking more books in the Tampa and St. Pete area. Follow Top Nada on Instagram to learn more about future events and new menu items.
