Pinch a Taco is the best taco truck in Tampa. Their low prices and friendly faces keep us coming back over and over again. If you want to try our favorite taco salad go check them out over by USF. If you want something a little meatier, try their four for $4 tacos. You won’t be disappointed, we promise.
9. California Tacos To Go

The best part about Cali Tacos is how customizable they are. You can pick from one of their main menu items or you can build your own taco. They have options for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike. We live for the Godzilla Burrito, a two pound burrito, stuffed with your choice of protein, rice, veggies, and pinto beans.
8. La Taqueria El Nopal
8305 N Dale Mabry Highway
https://www.instagram.com/p/BvruwJTALSW/
La Taqueria el Nopal is an authentic taco truck that brings the best flavors right to you. They have 12 different meat choices and will also work with you on making a vegan or vegetarian option! We recommend the chicken tacos, but if you are feeling bold, you can try the beef tongue or pork stomach tacos.
7. Bartaco
1601 W Snow Ave
https://www.instagram.com/p/BwenB1zFsSp/
We love Bartaco and everything that comes with it. The environment is fun and modern and the food comes in small portions so you have a chance to try anything. Plus, their margaritas are divine. We’re a sucker for the Crispy Avocado Tacos. Sometimes, they aren’t on the menu so be sure to ask about them!
6. TacoSon
7521 N 56th St
TacoSon has locations in St. Pete and Tampa and is sure to fill you up. The portion sizes here are huge and so fairly priced. Our personal favorite is the Nachos Supreme. We’ll be impressed if you can finish the whole plate on your own, but you should bring a friend or two to tackle this behemoth of a dish.
5. Taqueria Emanuel
2800 N MacDill Ave
https://www.instagram.com/p/BtYAxDoFu_H/
The legendary and locally-owned Taqueria Emanuel is a staple in most Tampa Bay-residents diets. Their popularity grew so much that they just recently opened a second location in Pinellas Park. The Alambre Tacos — handmade tortillas, grilled steaks, green and red bell peppers, grilled onions, lemon and mozzarella cheese — are a hearty delight. If you’re hungry for something more than tacos, you can’t go wrong with their juicy steak empanadas.
4. Taco Dirty
2221 W Platt St
https://www.instagram.com/p/BwvB9nmgoSR/
Ciccio’s latest Tampa endeavor, Taco Dirty, weds the best aspects of Fresh Kitchen and Green Lemon in restaurant matrimony. It’s quick, it’s relatively cheap and you can go healthy or hearty as you wish. You can add some exceptional toppings to your traditional tacos like red quinoa, black beans and avocado rice, vegan black beans and, our personal favorite, avocado citrus rice.
3. Acapulco Taqueria
1001 N Macdill Ave
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvo5f16gcxD/
Acapulco Mexican Grocery Store y Taqueria is the hole-in-the-wall foodie spot you need to experience. The tacos are served in the back of a small bodega — the space is outfitted with just five tables and five bar stools. You can pick a safe option or try the beef tongue and crispy pork rinds.
2. Los Comparres
5305 N Armenia Ave
https://www.instagram.com/p/8bAwf2NaSs/
Los Comparres spends all their energy on making the most authentic Mexican restaurant they can. They don’t have much a of a social media presence, but their environment and friendly faces make up for it. Their tostadas (a fried flour tortilla with meat and cheese) are to die for.
1. Loli’s Mexican Cravings
8005 Benjamin Rd
https://www.instagram.com/p/BqiEdQJA3G4/
This fast, casual restaurant’s homemade tortillas act as divine vessels for such creations as the Taco de Chicharrón — black beans, chicharrón, avocado pico, fresh cheese and, if you like a spicy kick, serrano pepper. They also serve exceptional ribeye sopes and pork on red sauce tamales.
